Quiet Weekend

Taken by Oscar for Papa Dale!

Grant not thrilled to be getting his picture taken :-)

Best friends

View is much better from up here!

We had a pretty quiet weekend here on the farm. Nancy, Alicia and Tim were all gone for quite a few days and I sure am glad to have them back. Things were TOO quiet! George was working Saturday so it was the kids and I. Madeline went to her first birthday party of the school year. She was a big girl and wanted to go all by HERSELF! She had a blast, I put my phone number on a piece of paper and put it in her pocket and said if she needed anything to ask to use the phone. Of course she didn't need it. She asked me later, why did you give me your phone number? :-)

Sunday we had a wonderful morning meeting...we heard so much about the necessity of prayer and being diligent in our prayer life. Someone knew just what I was needing to hear!! Afterwards we met Papa Donnie at TOPS diner. After our yummy lunch he said he had a ticket to the Saratoga Old Trucks Show, we came home and changed our clothes and headed up there. Some of the trucks were already leaving but there were still plenty there. Madeline played photographer and took a picture of pretty much every truck there along with one of Oscar standing in front of every truck! :-)

Came home and had a great rest of the afternoon outside. Papa then came for supper and by that time it was bedtime! George starts his new schedule this week. Working Monday Tuesday and Friday Saturday. 4:30am til whenever he gets home :-)

Also thinking of the George Chappell Family as we learned of his passing yesterday. Thankful we have the comfort of God during these times!

Renewing my relationship

Madeline Oscar and Emma at the kids Expo at Crossgates Mall

Madeline and her first rainy day of 1st Grade
Keagan
Just some of the canning we've done this fall.

with my blog. I haven't blogged since January of 2010!!! Its taken me a while to remember how to work this thing:-) So I have left the Facebook World and its been a week and a half and I am happy to say I haven't missed it....that much:-) I do miss seeing pictures of friends etc, but for the most part I haven't gotten so much done in probably the last three years that I've been on fb as I have this week. Ok maybe a slight exaggeration.....but I did accomplish a lot!

The kids have started school, Madeline in 1st grade and Oscar in his second year of nursery school. Both are loving it.....well maybe not Oscar so much:-) He has a thing about playing musical chairs and its all he thinks about. I guess he hasn't won so maybe that's his problem:-)

As many of you probably heard back in the beginning of Sept. Grant fell off the monkey bars at my parents place and hit his head on the concrete which produced a fractured skull. We are extremely lucky with the outcome, things could have been much worse! Doctors orders were no running, climbing or jumping for six weeks!! Ummm pretty much impossible for a two year old that doesn't walk, but runs everywhere.

George and I have been keeping busy as well, him with his full time job at Golub Warehouse and me with the kids and also babysitting a nine month old during the week. So a little update on our life and hopefully I'll not wait a year and half to update again! :-)
